Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?
Great. Things have been really exciting. We’re all on summer break. We’ve been busy at LACM (Los Angeles College of Music) for Summer Xperience and we’re busy working on new original music and new songs for our set list.
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Waiting”?
The idea behind the song “Waiting” is that it’s about wanting something in life but being so afraid of not getting it that you don’t even dare to try. Sometimes the expectations and goals that people have of themselves can overwhelm them to the point of a mental and emotional shutdown.
Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?
During Covid, we were all stuck at home “waiting” to get back to school and be able to see our friends in person. It seemed like everyone was so sad and stressed out. It made us think about all the things we were waiting to do…
How was the filming process and experience behind the video?
It was really fun and a great experience. We learned a lot and respect the hard work it takes to shoot a music video.
How was the recording and writing process?
Writing is always challenging but fun. It feels great having an outlet to express our thoughts and viewpoints. We loved being in the studio recording the song together. Just hearing everything come together is so satisfying.
What role does Southern California play in your music?
Living in Southern California inspires us to be creative and passionate in our music. There are so many talented artists around us. It fuels us to be better in what we do.
What songs do you enjoy playing live most?
“Hallelujah” is one of my favorite songs as it’s such an emotional song and I feel like I’m going to start crying sometimes when I sing it. It’s fun playing “Sweet Child O’ Mine” as well as it’s our biggest song that we rock out on, and I love playing the guitar solos.
Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?
We’ve got a couple songs we’re working on. Our next single is title “Dime a Dozen” We’re really excited to keep creating and sharing our stories through our music.
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
We’ll be releasing our next single, “Dime a Dozen” on July 26th
What else is happening next in ROOTED’s world?
We’re busy working on new music and a new setlist of songs and excited by what the future holds.
